Come Into My Kitchen

Does having the kitchenofyourdreams make you a better cook? If you want to know my thoughts on this, come back another day (I'm running out of time writing this!). If you just want to see my kitchen, here's a panoramic shot of the stove-top wall. Keep in mind that it's still a work in progress; I'm taking my time about the backsplash and light fixtures because I want to linger over these decisions (and also because we are out of $$!).

I shopped and fretted over counters more than I did for real estate, schools...even Husbands! It was worth it. I love this counter. It's costa esmerelda granite, in blueish-greenish-greyish tones. It  looks like marble, because it has white veins and is a soft color. The green-blue-grey tones put me in a happy mood when I round the corner into the kitchen every morning. I don't think you will notice the counter overhang issue, but I still do...

Behold the fridge and double oven, both from Viking. I love the bottom-freezer, and I use both ovens ... a lot! (People seem to ask that question often.)  The cabinets are cherry from Amish Custom Kitchens...

Now we're looking at the kitchen sink. Never thought I'd feel so lovingly toward a kitchen sink! But then, I spend so much time in this very spot, it should be lovely. I wish I had bought one-drain sink, however. I find the divider gets in the way a lot. I do love the old-fashioned look of the Newport Brass Bridge Mixer Faucet and the water pressure is strong and elegant. The faucet has issues, but I'm not going to write about that just yet. I'm hoping to get a replacement, but if the company burns me, I will write about it!

Very nice kitchen indeed! We are currently going through a kitchen remodel as well. My wife picked out an apron front sink also, I'm glad to see it looks totally awesome installed. We decided on soapstone counters but the undermount on the sink should be similar. Well done :)

Absolutely beautiful. I have a bottom drawer freezer on my refrig and LOVE it. Your granite countertops are beautiful and would look great in my kitchen. Yes, I think a beautiful kitchen makes you a better cook because you don't mind spending time there. Are the girls interested in learning to cook?

LOVE your kitchen. I especially love your sink with the undermount.

Too bad the stove is hard to clean... it looks so nice!

You have a lovely kitchen. I'm going through my own kitchen reno right now and hope mine turns out as beautiful as yours. I really like the finishes and colours you've chosen.
